Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is Photo Rejuvenation or Massaging Photo Facial?
A: It is a new treatment using massaging combined with intensive pulsed red and infra-red light (IPL) to produce healthier, younger-looking skin.

Q: What is the difference between Laser-based IPL devices and LED-based IPL devices?
A: A laser is a high energy device that controls the way energized atoms release photons or light energy  A LED (light emitting diode) is a light with no filament and little heat that is illuminated by the movement of electrons in a semiconductor material.

Q: Why should I choose LED-based systems?
A: ==> Laser based systems:
    * Are medical devices that must be operated under the care of a physician (usually either a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon).
    * Require a cooling application to the face prior to the treatment.
    * Will generate heat on the patient’s face and if improperly used, it can and will burn the skin.
    * Cannot be used on a person with medium to dark skin.  Darker skin will absorb too much light and the person will be burned.
    * Costs for laser treatments are generally between $350 and $700, with some dermatologists charging up to $1000 per treatment. Multiple treatments are required.
==> LED-based systems:
    * Are not medical devices and do not have to be operated in a doctor’s office.
    * Generate almost no heat and will not burn a client’s face. No cooling gel, cooling application or anesthetic is needed.
    * Can be used on all types of skin - ranging from white to black. You cannot burn a person with this system. It is a safe system for all people that is tremendously effective.
    * The treatments are not as expensive as the laser systems, and so the price per treatment for the LED-based system is far below the laser systems.

Q: Are their any adverse affects?
A: No, absolutely not. It is a painless and safe, non-invasive procedure.

Q: Where can I research Photo Rejuvenation Therapy or Photo Facial Therapy?
A: There is extensive information available on the Internet. You can find articles in Biophotics International, Popular Science, National Geographic, and a multitude of magazine articles that have recently been published regarding the use of light therapy for cosmetic purposes.

Q: Will I be able to go back to work after a treatment?
A: Absolutely. Treatments leave no after-affects whatsoever. It is one of the many advantages that Photo Rejuvenation Intense Pulse Light treatments have. You can carry on all your regular activities and no one will be the wiser as to what you are doing. They may comment that you look a little better each time . . .

Q: How is the treatment administered?
A: By a trained specialist who applies massaging pulsed light directly to your skin. It produces a feeling of relaxation and well being, giving you visible results for all to see.

Q: How often is a treatment required?
A: Usually 5 to 6 treatments at 7- to 10-day intervals.

Q: Do I need maintenance treatments?
A: Yes, they are important in order to maintain your visible results. Usually every 45 to 60 days.

Q: I have been receiving micro-dermabrasion and other treatments. Will Photo Rejuvenation affect these treatments?
A: Massaging Light Treatments from Timeless Skin will complement micro-dermabrasion along with other types of cosmetic treatments: the N Light, Botox, Collagen Shots, Glycolic Peels, and even previous plastic surgery. Since it promotes healing from within, it is an excellent follow-up to maximize any other treatments.

Q: Who will the Timeless Skin Massaging Light Treatments work on?
A: Massaging light will work on most people. Primarily the target market is people between the ages of 30 and 60, but it will work on people of any age. The number of treatments will vary depending on the age of the person, the condition of their skin, and their exposure to the sun.

Q: Will photo rejuvenation treatments remove age spots from my hands and other parts of my body?
A: Yes. The hands will take longer than other parts of the body because the skin is so close o the bone.

Q: In addition to age spots, what other types of blemishes will Massaging Intensive Pulsed Light Therapy help?
A: The rule of thumb is anything that appears on the skin from the top down (outside sources) can be removed over time. Any growths, pigmentation, etc. from the skin up (birth and beauty marks, etc.), cannot be removed.
